Hey there! ♡
Thanks so much for stopping by my blog! I’m so glad that you’re here!
My name is Haven and I’m a stay-at-home millennial boy mama, a wife, and a dog lover. My husband and I are resuming remodeling our home, laundry is everywhere (after it gets washed for the third time), my son likes our dog's toys more than most of his, dog hair is everywhere... Oh, and just FYI, robot vacuums don't stand a chance against a German Shepherd…
Now, to move on to what this blog is about and why I started it!
In the past couple of years, I feel like I've been to hell and back. Diagnosed with endometriosis, adenomyosis, and PCOS. I call the "trifecta" for having infertility issues. Miscarried our first baby on the first day of orientation at a new job. Had 3 miscarriages in 4 months. After our third angel passed, the doctor didn't order a D&C until 2 weeks later. I went through the worst depressive episode of my life. After my son was born, I was diagnosed with severe postpartum depression, which truly felt like the first floor of hell.
I can say with 100% certainty that it was a miracle that I survived PPD. It's something that I'd never wish on anybody. God and my family are the only reason that I made it. No doubt about that.
Finally, after 10 years, I have found the right medicine combination and life seems to be blooming. It's like a new beginning of my life, and I want to share my journey with mamas and young women.
I have switched to value-oriented thinking. Instead of being goal oriented, I am focusing more on the why or the value of the completed goal. For example, why do I want to lose 40 lbs.? So, I can be the best me (the why) to increase my confidence and be physically fit/healthy so I can be active & live every moment creating memories with my family (the value of the completed goal).
I believe that you must bring your whole self to the table if you want to live to the fullest; your sense of humor, your passions, your heart, & most importantly, your true self. All of these elements brought me to start my blog, The Gen Z Mom.
My desire is to share my honest, funny, beautiful & ugly truths about motherhood and remind women that it's okay if you're not your best self all the time. Also, I want to help empower and inspire moms and young women to live life to their fullest.
Again, thanks so much for checking out my blog!
Take a look around, read on & enjoy!
